Industry pain points and challenges
Understand the core issues in this application scenario and how we can provide solutions through advanced display technology
core pain point
Brightness Decay and Color Distortion under Strong Sunlight
Outdoor displays operate under direct sunlight for extended periods, causing the backlight module brightness to continuously decrease over time. Industry data shows that after 18 months of outdoor use, the brightness retention rate of ordinary commercial display panels is often less than 60% of the initial value, resulting in a grayish image, a sharp drop in the recognizability of advertising content, and a significant reduction in the actual effectiveness of brand advertising. Simultaneously, high temperatures accelerate the aging of liquid crystal molecules, narrowing the color gamut and shifting the white balance, ultimately producing a visually "yellowish" or "faded" appearance.
Stability Failure Due to Heat Accumulation Inside Sealed Enclosures
To meet IP65 waterproof and dustproof requirements, outdoor displays generally adopt a fully sealed enclosure design, which directly cuts off natural convection heat dissipation. High-brightness backlights are themselves strong heat sources, and when combined with solar radiation, the internal temperature of the enclosure can easily exceed 70°C. Under overheating conditions, the main control board frequently triggers overheat protection, leading to automatic screen blackouts, or causing memory errors and system crashes. Maintenance teams need to perform on-site resets, resulting in consistently high annual downtime and directly causing lost advertising revenue.
Content Update and Fault Response Costs under Multi-Point Distributed Deployment
Outdoor advertising machines are often distributed across various street corners, commercial districts, or transportation hubs in cities, resulting in extremely high labor and transportation costs for a single on-site inspection. Traditional solutions rely on USB drives or local area networks to update content, with synchronization delays ranging from hours to days. Equipment failures require engineers to be on-site to locate the problem, often resulting in a mean time to repair (MTTR) exceeding 4 hours. For promotional activities or emergency announcements that rely on real-time updates, this lag is completely unacceptable and also amplifies maintenance manpower costs.
Our technological advantages
We provide industry-leading display technology and customized solutions to meet the special requirements of this application scenario
HiBright” Ultra-High Brightness Adaptive Optical Engine
HITULCD's self-developed HiBright™ backlight driving architecture employs independent dimming technology for each zone, boosting the panel's peak brightness to over 2500 nits. It also integrates an ambient light sensor array to collect real-time ambient illuminance data and dynamically adjust the backlight power of each zone with millisecond-level response. Under strong sunlight, it automatically maximizes brightness to ensure image readability, while automatically reducing power consumption at night or on cloudy days to extend backlight lifespan, balancing visual quality and long-term stability. The backlight lifespan can reach over 50,000 hours.
ThermoGuard™ Closed-Loop Intelligent Cooling Architecture
Under the constraints of a fully sealed IP65 chassis, HITULCD's proprietary ThermoGuard™ closed-loop thermal management solution: A built-in multi-point NTC temperature sensor network continuously collects the temperature of core components. Heat pipes and thermally conductive copper pillars efficiently transfer heat to the chassis backplate heatsink fins, supplemented by an internal circulating silent airflow to dissipate localized hotspots. When any monitored point exceeds a safety threshold, the system automatically triggers a tiered protection strategy (brightness reduction → frequency reduction → protective sleep), ensuring continuous 24/7 uninterrupted operation within a wide temperature range of -20°C to +50°C.
CloudSync End-to-End Cloud-Based Operation and Maintenance Management System
HITULCD is equipped with the CloudSync™ SaaS platform, enabling end-to-end digital management and control from content creation to terminal broadcasting. Operators can schedule content, push content in batches, and preview it in real time on any number of devices via web or mobile devices, completing network-wide updates within minutes. The platform synchronously collects multi-dimensional telemetry data from each device, including online status, temperature curves, brightness logs, and playback completion rates. The AI anomaly detection module identifies potential faults in advance, supports remote restarts and configuration rollbacks, eliminating a large number of maintenance work orders before on-site visits, and significantly reducing overall operating costs.
